I guess so

I guess that I should mention that today is Josh's 22nd birthday. Since I don't really like conforming to everyone else, this is actually a struggle for me. However, I figure that since I don't really get to do anything for his birthday, mentioning it on the blog will make up for it (kind of). We really don't get to spend some time together since I left for work around 7:30AM and then he won't be home until 10:00 PM. Yes, it stinks but we are trying to work something out since it will be worse once school starts. Josh actually requested to work on his birthday.. he hates it when his birthday rolls around. SO anyway... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!

On a side note... I started training yesterday. It is going to be an interesting school year. Let's just hope that I make it out alive!

Am I Dreaming???

I feel like I am dreaming at the moment. Everything is happening so fast I cannot believe it. I'm so thankful for everything that has happened within the last thirty minutes or so. I really must be dreaming.
For those of you that have already guessed what I might be talking about I have to say good job. I am going to be a teacher. My dreams have come true. I got a call about 30 minutes ago from Tempe Elementary School District offering me a job at Connolly Middle School. I'm going to be teaching sixth grade mathematics... my dream job. I didn't mention the interview to anyone except Josh (duh) so that way I didn't have to let anyone down if I didn't get the job. As I sat in the interview I had a lot of fun. I thought that I did well. I was told a lot of information about the school and as they described it, I knew that it was my perfect place. It sounded as though they were describing me.
The ironic part was that earlier this morning I had an interview set up with Highland Junior High for a math teaching position. I called to cancel the interview since I am going to teach at my dream school. I sign my contract tomorrow and then start training on Thursday. Wow! That sounds really crazy!
I don't think that I can describe how amazed and how happy and thankful I am at the moment for being able to get a job. The past few months have been really difficult for me as I saw my cousin get a job offer at the beginning of the summer. I will admit that I was jealous. I will also admit that I did see it as a trial and I knew that I would be able to handle what I was facing, it was really hard though. I do think that it has made me stronger and I do think that Heavenly Father knew where I needed to be.
CONNOLLY MIDDLE SCHOOL HERE I COME!
I guess that I should also say "Hello" to Disneyland. Josh said that he would take me during my October break if I got a teaching job. YES! A real vacation!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Josh cannot really decide if he wants to attend MCC or ITT Tech in the fall.

2. The truth is... I'm voting that he goes to MCC because it is a lot cheaper. We can afford MCC.

3. The truth is... I've thought about trying to get a job at University of Phoenix (UoP) if I didn't get a teaching job.

4. The truth is... I think that too many family members work at UoP so I probably won't. I don't like conforming to the crowds.

5. The truth is... Josh's best friend Billy is living with us for awhile. We will have to see how well I adjust to having him here.

My phone took a swim

I know, weird title but it is completely true! While on our way to the Baker reunion this weekend we stopped at my aunt's cabin in Vernon to wait out some trouble that we were having. I decided that I should use a toilet for the last time in a few days. Now you can see where my phone decided to take a swim. WHAT!?!?!?! I completely forgot that it was in my pocket so when I stood up, it just kind of fell out. If any of you know me, I was freaking out! I'm a lot like my mom when it comes to overreacting. Yes, I did just that. Once we got to the campsite (after 45 minutes and a lot of crying) I set my phone on the dashboard of Josh's truck to dry out. It works most of the time. The other times the keypad doesn't work. Hey, at least I have something for now.
And no, I don't have a warranty. Josh does, but I don't. Normally he has really bad luck with his phones. I guess we should have got a warranty for both of us.
Oh! More to come about the Baker reunion (although most of you were there).

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... the latest i can sleep in is 7:30 AM. Otherwise I am just useless throughout the day.

2. The truth is... I love monsoon season here in Arizona. Watching the storms roll in every night is so cool.

3. The truth is... I love the smell of rain. I don't know why but it smells really good.

4. The truth is... Sometimes coming up with truths can be difficult.

5. The truth is... Harry Potter was a bit of a disappointment for me. I liked it, but it is not my favorite movie so far. The sixth book is my favorite (book) but the fifth movie is my favorite (movie).
