I guess that I should mention that today is Josh's 22nd birthday. Since I don't really like conforming to everyone else, this is actually a struggle for me. However, I figure that since I don't really get to do anything for his birthday, mentioning it on the blog will make up for it (kind of). We really don't get to spend some time together since I left for work around 7:30AM and then he won't be home until 10:00 PM. Yes, it stinks but we are trying to work something out since it will be worse once school starts. Josh actually requested to work on his birthday.. he hates it when his birthday rolls around. SO anyway... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!
On a side note... I started training yesterday. It is going to be an interesting school year. Let's just hope that I make it out alive!

Am I Dreaming???
I feel like I am dreaming at the moment. Everything is happening so fast I cannot believe it. I'm so thankful for everything that has happened within the last thirty minutes or so. I really must be dreaming.
For those of you that have already guessed what I might be talking about I have to say good job. I am going to be a teacher. My dreams have come true. I got a call about 30 minutes ago from Tempe Elementary School District offering me a job at Connolly Middle School. I'm going to be teaching sixth grade mathematics... my dream job. I didn't mention the interview to anyone except Josh (duh) so that way I didn't have to let anyone down if I didn't get the job. As I sat in the interview I had a lot of fun. I thought that I did well. I was told a lot of information about the school and as they described it, I knew that it was my perfect place. It sounded as though they were describing me.
The ironic part was that earlier this morning I had an interview set up with Highland Junior High for a math teaching position. I called to cancel the interview since I am going to teach at my dream school. I sign my contract tomorrow and then start training on Thursday. Wow! That sounds really crazy!
I don't think that I can describe how amazed and how happy and thankful I am at the moment for being able to get a job. The past few months have been really difficult for me as I saw my cousin get a job offer at the beginning of the summer. I will admit that I was jealous. I will also admit that I did see it as a trial and I knew that I would be able to handle what I was facing, it was really hard though. I do think that it has made me stronger and I do think that Heavenly Father knew where I needed to be.
CONNOLLY MIDDLE SCHOOL HERE I COME!
I guess that I should also say "Hello" to Disneyland. Josh said that he would take me during my October break if I got a teaching job. YES! A real vacation!
Tuesday Truths
1. The truth is... Josh cannot really decide if he wants to attend MCC or ITT Tech in the fall.
2. The truth is... I'm voting that he goes to MCC because it is a lot cheaper. We can afford MCC.
3. The truth is... I've thought about trying to get a job at University of Phoenix (UoP) if I didn't get a teaching job.
4. The truth is... I think that too many family members work at UoP so I probably won't. I don't like conforming to the crowds.
5. The truth is... Josh's best friend Billy is living with us for awhile. We will have to see how well I adjust to having him here.

My phone took a swim
I know, weird title but it is completely true! While on our way to the Baker reunion this weekend we stopped at my aunt's cabin in Vernon to wait out some trouble that we were having. I decided that I should use a toilet for the last time in a few days. Now you can see where my phone decided to take a swim. WHAT!?!?!?! I completely forgot that it was in my pocket so when I stood up, it just kind of fell out. If any of you know me, I was freaking out! I'm a lot like my mom when it comes to overreacting. Yes, I did just that. Once we got to the campsite (after 45 minutes and a lot of crying) I set my phone on the dashboard of Josh's truck to dry out. It works most of the time. The other times the keypad doesn't work. Hey, at least I have something for now.And no, I don't have a warranty. Josh does, but I don't. Normally he has really bad luck with his phones. I guess we should have got a warranty for both of us.
Oh! More to come about the Baker reunion (although most of you were there).

Tuesday Truths
1. The truth is... the latest i can sleep in is 7:30 AM. Otherwise I am just useless throughout the day.

2. The truth is... I love monsoon season here in Arizona. Watching the storms roll in every night is so cool.
3. The truth is... I love the smell of rain. I don't know why but it smells really good.
4. The truth is... Sometimes coming up with truths can be difficult.
5. The truth is... Harry Potter was a bit of a disappointment for me. I liked it, but it is not my favorite movie so far. The sixth book is my favorite (book) but the fifth movie is my favorite (movie).

Some good news...
I have decided that I should point out some good things that have happened to me over the past few weeks. It might make me feel a little bit better. No, I don't have a job yet and no I'm not pregnant. Not having a job yet is really bringing me down (just ask Josh about that one) so I thought that I would point out three good things that have been happening to me.
1. Since I've started to lose weight just over a month ago I have been able to fit back into two pairs of shorts that I tried on in the beginning of the summer and couldn't fit into. For me, that is a huge accomplishment. Not only that but one pair of my shorts seems to be really lose. Maybe that is just my imagination.
2. Next, my skin is starting to clear up. I've been washing my face every night with acid water and it has really helped me to clear up my skin. That is a huge accomplishment because it was really bad before I started. I had scabs and scars everywhere on my chin. I know, a lot of information but for me, it is good news. I was very self-conscious about that.

3. My faith in grocery shopping has been restored. As many of you already know, I love grocery shopping. For some strange reason I get a high handing someone my coupons and watching my total shrink. This week Basha's, Albertson's, and Fry's has some great deals. I can once again get excited going to the grocery store and watching my savings grow. For example, at Fry's today I spent $36.00 and saved $76.00. I bought 33 items. That is a little over a dollar for each item. :)
On a side note... I've been doing a lot of craft projects over the summer. I plan on posting about all my cool craft accomplishments at the end of the month. You should really look forward to it because I'm very proud of myself.Tuesday, July 14, 2009
Tuesday Truths
1. The truth is... It gets really hot here in Arizona; especially when the air conditioner doesn't work right.
2. The truth is... My dad can fix just about anything. It is really amazing.
3. The truth is... I'm having a hard time thinking of truths today. Probably because it is really boring.

4. The truth is... I'm jealous of my parents because in October they are going to go to Philadelphia with a few friends. I would love to go there again and see more history sights.
5. The truth is... I'm counting down the days until Wicked comes back to ASU Gammage. I'm going back and I'm taking Josh... even if we don't get great seats like we did this time.

Wicked!!!!
If you ever have the chance to go see Wicked I would definitely suggest that you go see it. It is a Broadway musical that is based off the book written a few years ago. The book is from the point of view of the Wicked Witch of the West (from the Wizard of Oz) and how everything played out. It is amazing! Karen and I have been wanting to go see it for about four years now and yesterday our wish finally came true! About 18 months ago we caught wind that it was coming to ASU Gammage in the summer of 2009. We were instantly excited and were able to get out tickets early. My parents even bought tickets. So we have been counting down until the day we could see Wicked for the first time. My dad was supposed to come but he gave his ticket to Wendi so that way she could spend some time away from the kids and baby. We all had a lot of fun and the show was amazing. We did take a few pictures. When I get them I will have to post them. They are all before and after watching the show but that is okay. IT WAS GREAT! I will definitely go back again and I plan on taking Josh too. I think that he would enjoy it as well.

Tuesday Truths
1. The truth is... I'm really not all that excited to see Harry Potter. I want to see it the day it comes out but since I already know what is going to happen most of the magic is lost.
2. The truth is... I weigh more than Josh. It's pathetic... I know.
3. The truth is... I'm trying to lose weight so that way I can actually weigh less than Josh. A month after starting my diet, I've only lost 8 pounds.
4. The truth is... I take naps everyday because I don't have much to do while Josh is at work.
5. The truth is... I hate Josh's work schedule. He doesn't get home until 10:00PM and so when I start working I will rarely see him.

There may still be hope...
Can I just say how much I love having a car that works? It started overheating on me about two weeks ago. Everytime I went in my car to drive somewhere it would get too hot. My dad tried replacing the radiator but that was no good. It was so bad that it would overheat after two miles of driving. I would cry every time I had to get in my car to go somewhere. Yes, it was
that bad. Anyway... my dad has finally fixed my car! I love having a car. Josh and I are thinking about replacing it with my dream car (Toyota Highlander) but that all depends on a job offer.

Josh and I are thinking about replacing it with my dream car (Toyota Highlander) but that all depends on a job offer.Speaking of job offers... I still have not found my perfect school. However I have been to multiple interviews therefore giving me some more hope. I just hope that I eventually find my perfect school. It's out there somewhere!
