ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

I just thought that I would let everyone know that it is the end of the world. Wendi has started a blog. I repeat, Wendi Udall has started a blog! It is still in the making but it is very exciting so I thought that you should know.

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... I am a home body. I don't like being away from home too long.

2. The truth is... I am in love with sewing right now. Wendi let me borrow her sewing machine and now I really want one because I can use it a lot.

3. The truth is... Josh and I don't have a TV in our bedroom and I'm glad that we don't.

4. The truth is... I think that every couple should go to bed at the same time. It allows them to actually talk before going to bed. It has helped me and Josh

5. The truth is... Josh sometimes has to force me in to buying things that I need. I'm too cheap to actually buy them so Josh has to make me.

Simple Principles

"I am a child of God
and he has sent me here
has given me an earthly home
with parents kind and dear.
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me
help me find the way.
Teach me all that I can do
to live with him someday."
- Children's Primary Songbook I am a Child of God

"Fear not I am with thee oh be not dismayed.
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I'll strengthen thee help thee
and cause thee to stand.
Upheld by my righteous
upheld by my righteous
upheld by my righteous omnipotent hands."
-Hymn book How Firm a Foundation vs. 3

Thanks Cullumber Ward Primary for singing every week and helping me to feel the spirit and remember such simple principles that I sometimes forget.

6 Months

Today it has been six months since we officially moved into our house. I don't know why it is so exciting for me but it is. We have made a lot of improvements on the house and we still have a lot left as well. Most of the improvements that we wish to make will not happen until we have a little bit more money but here are a few.
  • Repaint the house.
  • Take out the rocks and put in some grass.
  • Fix the garage door so we can park in it.
  • Put in a new fridge.
  • Paint the kitchen.
  • Move in the piano. (It is at Josh's mom's house at the moment.)
  • Clean the garage of some boxes that still have not been emptied since we moved.
  • Put cabinets in with my washer and drier. My dad has a lot, I just need to pick them out and ask him to put them up for me. He's really busy so it may take awhile.

So there isn't that much to do but I have to get Josh's help to do some of it and that can sometimes be very difficult to do. Notice the word sometimes. Anyway, here are some pictures of everything that we have done. I'm excited because I'm putting up a couple of new pictures of some rooms that we are currently working on. ENJOY!

We have cleaned up the backyard of the weed jungle. That took a long time to do but it looks a lot better. We have also planted our first garden. We only did leeks, lettuce, carrots, and peppers but we were excited that those grew. We will plant more as we continue to work on the back yard. It's getting too hot now so it may be a few more months.

We have built an entertainment center. This wall was all cabinets, now we have a really nice entertainment center to use. Josh worked really hard on it and he even stained the cabinets so it looks really nice.

We have painted the master bedroom. My goal is to keep it clean and make the bed everyday but it doesn't happen all the time. I either forget or get lazy. Josh doesn't seem to mind too much.

We have painted our family room. I was a little worried since it is so dark but I actually really like it. I am planning on making curtains for the window. I was going to make them blue but I decided to go with green. It will really help the trees stand out more as well as match my home sign that I we got for Christmas before we got married.

I think that this is my favorite room. It is the guest bathroom. I'm still not done with it yet but I thought that I should showcase it anyway. I still plan on putting a shelf up for the rest of my penguins and then more snowflakes. The snowflakes are cut from my cricut with vinyl. Yes, I love vinyl! I'll probably post pictures of my projects later on. I'm doing a lot so wish me luck!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that we painted the guest room and we put in some bunkbeds as well as my old dresser in there. I will post pictures of that when I am done decorating it.

YEA!

Today I got together with four of my friends from high school. We had a lot of fun doing crafts, talking, and eating food. Anyway, I found out that Ashley has a blog and that makes me very HAPPY!!! She doesn't know how to work around it very well so I am going to teach her how to use it. I'm excited because now I have more friends on my blog list and it isn't just family!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... I don't get a facebook because it would satisfy my friends.
2. The truth is... I don't even get facebook, and I get lost.

3. The truth is... I'm a coupon-aholic. I love using coupons!

4. The truth is... I look forward to Tuesday because I get the new grocery ads in the mail. I love looking at them and trying to find out what would be a good price.

5. The truth is... I go grocery shopping because we need food. It satisfies my craving to go normal shopping and buy things that I don't really need. (And Josh thinks it is funny.)

So... despite the fact of being sick the past two days I've had a lot of emotions run through me. I thought that I would share some of them with you, my awesome blog readers. I do wish you the best of luck because some of them are a little weird and will make you think "she's an idiot" but oh well. Anyway...

First I do have to mention that Josh and I are continuously being blessed. I think about all those blessings everyday. Josh has a new job and he found one really fast. That is always exciting. We have a really nice house that is so large I don't want to clean it half the time. We finally have been able to paint our family room and it looks awesome! (Pictures to come, don't worry). We have an amazing ward that we live in and I currently work with one of the coolest Primary choristers that you will ever meet. (Trust me, she is amazing!). I have so many things in my life that I can count as blessings. However, they seem to be changed when I think of the lives of others or find out something new about someone. Here are a few examples.

First, I have recently discovered that EVERYONE goes on vacations. Do Josh and I? NO! Most of you have probably noticed that by some of my blog posts. I will admit that I am JEALOUS of those people because I don't get to go on a trip with my husband when everyone is constantly going out of town. My mom does bring up a good point. She always asks me "do they have the money to? Are they going more in debt to go on this trip?" Then she says that we have the money to go on a vacation so nothing should be stopping us. Then I think about the time. Well, Josh would have to take the time off so that means he doesn't get paid. Not only that but it can sometimes be difficult for him to get time off. We'll have to see what happens with this new job. Anyway, vacations are totally bumming me out. I want to go on one (and Josh has promised to take me to Disneyland) but I still cannot help to be jealous of all those that are able to go out of town frequently.

My next major issue is that I DON'T HAVE A JOB YET! I haven't had an interview or even a call for a job. A couple of my friends have now received a teaching position and are getting multiple interviews. IT IS NOT FAIR! During the past two years, when I mentioned that I wanted middle school math people told me that I would have no trouble whatsoever to get a job. Well, I'm having trouble and it is making me really sad.

Trust me, I think that I could go on FOREVER over some of the things that I have been thinking but I won't. I will admit that I am thankful for Josh because he puts up with a lot of my problems, listens to me, and helps me deal with them. He is really amazing and I love him for that.

A Corny Day

Our Monday was very Corny indeed. No, that doesn't mean that we were with dad and he was telling a lot of really bad jokes. In fact we were actually working with CORN! Corn was everywhere and there were TONS of it. Here is what happened. My parents have some really good friends who are farmers. Well, they planted some corn for Chandler High School's FFA and they told our friends that they could come and pick some of the corn. Well, we were lucky to get in on the deal. So, around 4:30 AM Josh and I woke up and went to the corn field with my parents and picked corn. We found out that next year Josh is going to have to take more precautions on what he wears because he got hives from the field. Anyway... we picked for about forty-five minutes and got a lot of corn. When mom said get some corn, I don't think that she meant this much, and neither did she. I think that we all just kept picking. Dad didn't want to stop. He said that free corn is awesome corn. We eventually decided that we had a lot more than expected.
We then came home and preceded to take of the husks. Wendi did come out to help us with this big project. The kids even helped a little. I think that they had a lot of fun.

While taking the husks off we even came across some friends of ours! WORMS! We just hit the corn against the trashcan with all the husks and they came right off. Sorry worms but you were eating our FREE CORN!

After taking the husks off the corn, we washed it.

Then we cut off all the kernels. It was really messy, you should have seen dad's shop before we cleaned up. I even got it all over me, I couldn't imagine clean up if we did it inside the house.

After cutting off the corn, we cooked it on the stove and placed it in quart freezer bags. MMMMM!!! Frozen corn. We used to do this but haven't done so in a long time. If you even get the chance, this type of corn is AMAZING! It was a lot of work, but it is definitely worth it. We got about 78 bags of corn. Yes Paula and Karen we do love you so you get some too!

Now I cannot eat corn. Just the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. It may take awhile to dive into our beautiful stash of corn. Oh! It was the first thing that went into our new freezer!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... I love spending time with Josh's family it is just really hard for me because I don't have much in common with them. That is true with Josh and my family as well.

2. The truth is... I am really worried about getting a job for this coming school year.

3. The truth is... math used to be my least favorite subject. Now I am in love with the way it makes me think. It is awesome!

4. The truth is... When I was in school, I would freak out if I got anything lower than an "A" on a test, paper, or homework. If I did, I would get stressed out.

5. The truth is... I'm not a procrastinator unless I don't know how to do something. Then it will take me awhile to get to it. (Such as a school assignment.)
