Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... It feels so weird to know that I should be at work but am not. It will be a long maternity leave. I keep looking at the clock and thinking "I should be doing this at the moment."

2. The truth is... It was really nice to sleep in and wake up slowly with Josh this morning. I could totally get used to it. I like the fact that he works nights.

3. The truth is... Josh is actually working a full 40 hours this week. It is awesome, but it is also my first week of maternity leave and I was looking forward to spending a lot of time with just him. I guess it will have to wait.

4. The truth is... I want to go out to breakfast one morning before the baby arrives. Is anyone with me on that?

5. The truth is... I go to the doctor again on Thursday. For some reason I have a HUGE feeling my due date will change. Not much is happening so it is just a hunch.

Thankful

I could not imagine my life without all the great things I have been given. This Thanksgiving things have been placed into a different perspective and I feel extra thankful. Here are just a few of the things I am thankful for.
1. My amazing husband. He has been incredibly patient with my over the past 8 months (or should I say 7 years?). It in amazing and I can't wait to see how he acts when little Victoria arrives. I think he is going to spoil her like crazy.
2. My cute Jack Jack. I couldn't imagine my home without him. It is so depressing when he is away from us. I love him so much (and I didn't think I could love a dog this much.)
3. My sweet baby. I love Victoria and I'm glad that I have been able to get to know her so well over the past 8 months. I am going to miss keeping her all to myself but at the same time I cannot wait to meet her.
4. My house. I know that I have moments to where I don't like it because it is rarely clean but I am glad that I have a house that I can afford and have as my own. I love it and it will always be a work in progress but we all are so I don't care.
5. The gospel. Where would my life be without it? I don't think I need to say more because IT IS AWESOME!
6. Family... especially my parents. They are all so incredibly supportive and amazing!
7. My job. Although I get frustrated and I am always busy with my job, I'm still thankful to have one and to have amazing coworkers who are always on my side.
8. Josh's job. I'm glad that Josh was able to find a job that he loves. It is so great. Although it is only part time, I know that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help our family survive.
9. Good health. Both Josh and I don't have any major health  issues at the moment and the baby is doing good as well. I have no complaints.
10. Living without my paycheck. Since I went back to school in August Josh and I have been able to budget well enough to not use my paycheck. That way we are not dependent on my income and can live off of Josh's for when I start to stay at home. We are incredibly lucky that we have that ability.

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Josh and I barely have discovered Jack Jack's love for stuffed animals.

2. The truth is... We gave Jack Jack an old stuffed penguin. He is so cute with it... especially since it is so close to his size.

3. The truth is... Josh has next week off of school. I'm excited to spend some time with him before the next quarter starts (I know, perfect timing).

4. The truth is... Today was my last official day of teaching. Yep, I wanted to cry... twice.

5. The truth is... I'm excited I made it to my maternity leave. Now the real preparations begin for our sweet Victoria's arrival!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Jack Jack is so excited for his little sister to arrive. After my shower on Saturday he had to smell everything making sure it was good enough for her.

2. The truth is... Josh only has two weeks (this and next week) of school. Then he starts a new semester after that.

3. The truth is... I'm concerned I will go into labor when Josh is at work or school. I know he will come when I call, but I would feel bad making him leave.

4. The truth is... I'm trying to forget that I have only 5 days left until maternity leave. It's hard when I have people constantly reminding me at school.

5. The truth is... I went to the doctor today and sweet Victoria had hiccups when we heard her heartbeat. It was so funny... and made sense on why she was going crazy at the same time.

Halloween

Halloween this year was a lot of fun for us. Josh and I had so many ideas of what to do for our costume but finally settled on Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. I thought that they turned out really well! I also made Jack Jack a costume. He went as Super Jack Jack. Josh and I went to my sister's Halloween party and then Jack Jack and I went trick-or-treating on Halloween with Wendi and her kids. Here are a few pictures.
I did put some ivy around my legs but took them off for the drive home.

Super Jack Jack! It suits him. I'm glad that he let my put on the cape.

My cute Charlie Brown!
Another of the super puppy.
After trick-or-treating Jack Jack was tired. When we got home he crashed in his bed and would not move. I saved his cape so he could go trick-or-treating next year. He is going to be the superhero that saves me and Josh (the surfers) from the shark (Tori). Well, that is what I want to do. We will see what happens in a year. I can't wait to be able to go out with my sweet baby next year!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... my baby shower is this weekend. I'm excited because after this weekend I can finally start to straighten up the nursery. I've been excited to finish it for a long time now.

2. The truth is... I have about 5 weeks left until my due date. Yes, I'll admit it, I am uncomfortable, but I will survive. I know that it is worth it.

3. The truth is... Jack Jack is one crazy puppy when it is cold outside. The fresh air revitalizes him and he goes crazy when he gets to come back inside. I LOVE IT!

4. The truth is... I have finally gotten a sub for my maternity leave. Yep, it was only 11 days before I left but at least the district is now allowing me the sub I want.

5. The truth is... Josh is planning a surprise for me on Friday since we both have the day off. I'm dieing to know what he is up to but I guess that I will have to wait.

San Diego- Part 2

I figure that since I really don't have much to do at the moment and since it is hard to move I should probably finish blogging about our San Diego trip. Then I can move on to Halloween and try to keep caught up for when Tori joins our family.
The third day of our trip consisted of more walking. I'm glad that we went when we did because I don't think I could keep up almost a month later. I was really impressed at how amazing Josh was. He was always really patient with my slow movements. That is probably what makes him so awesome. He stopped to let me rest a lot as well. Our first stop that morning was Point Loma Lighthouse. When we were driving there we thought that we were going the wrong direction (or at least I did) because the location is a little weird. I will admit that I'm sure the view of the ocean is beautiful. However, the fog came in again that morning and we couldn't see much. We could hear the ocean waves come in, does that count? We would have gone to the tide pools but it consisted of more walking and I didn't want to wait all my energy on the first stop. We spent about an hour there exploring and going to the visitor center.
Cabrillo National Monument
Me with all the fog. It was so weird to have so much of it! It made it really hard to breathe!

Pointe Loma Lighthouse from the monument.

Break time on the walk up to the lighthouse.

Josh with what I think is a toilet. I thought it was cool.
After that we drove over to the Mormon Battalion Museum. That was so cool! I didn't know that they had re-done the place but it was pretty awesome. if you are in San Diego, you have to stop. They have an amazing presentation and then at the end fun activities that kids would love. Yep, Josh and I are kids at heart because we love them too!
Panning for gold! We even have a couple of pieces.
Me in a covered wagon outside the museum.
My cute soldier. Can I just say that musket is HEAVY! I don't know how they carried them all those miles!
Photo opportunity. They have a little photo booth and you can email it to yourself.
Since Old Town was so close we went over there next. We didn't do much there but we did some shopping, had some lunch, and looked around the different museums. It was pretty cool. I had just been there but a lot of the museums were closed because it was night. It is totally different during the day. It was a lot of fun looking around all the shops. We did buy a few things while we were there but not too much because it was a little expensive (and yes I felt guilty spending money).
Me trying to conquer my fear of skeletons by making friends with them. (Yep, I used to have nightmares about them.)
Josh playing dead in a casket.
Horse at the barn in Old Town. The guy there was so nice to take our picture.

I had to get a picture of these... they are HUGE brands. I thought of my dad.
Cute Wells Fargo stuffed horse.
Wells Fargo stage coach.
After all that we were not done! We went over to Balboa Park. Wow! That place is HUGE and busy! It was so cool. I totally want to go back when I feel like walking around more. There is so much to do there! That  is where the zoo is located and a TON of museums. There is a lot of park area too (that is free). We ended up walking over to the museum of man because I had a coupon and I thought that it would be cool. It really was! They had so much to learn. We learned about the Myans, Egyptians, homo-sapiens (which reminded me of Ross from the show Friends), genes, and we even got to dig for some fossils!
Digging for fossils.
Josh with C-3PO. It was kind of weird having him there but we had to get a picture anyway.
That would be a baby going through the birth canal. Yep, it scared me just a little. We learned all about the birth process. It is so cool! They even had a replica of a baby at certain weeks. Wow! They are really small, even at 18 weeks!
Josh loved this tree. It is pretty cool.
This dragon was cool. I had to sit side-saddle because my leg wouldn't go that high. He was one HOT dragon though.
Museum of Man. Is the architecture amazing?
This is a replica of the largest ape in the world. Yep, he is now extinct and has been for years.
Egyptian princess throne.
We can build pyramids too!
We would have done more at Balboa Park but I was getting too tired. We went back to the hotel to relax for an hour or two and then went to dinner. Actually, we went to the 99 cent store we found a got a few things. After that we went to Chili's, had dessert and then went shopping at Burlington Coat Factory. We found some cute maternity things for me as well as a cute dress for Tori. Then we went back to the hotel and ate our leftover Olive Garden from the night before. It was a good day!

Not much happened on day 4. We drove home. Yep, I know that driving is just so exciting. On the way home we picked up our little Jack Jack from Wendi's and I was excited to see him again. I missed my little puppy. I had a lot of fun on my last trip with just Josh. Now it is on to our next stage... starting our family!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... For some reason I've been waking up at 5 every morning. Yep, that is BEFORE my alarm. It doesn't make me very happy. Maybe it is because I'm worried/ stressed about getting ready for my sub.

2. The truth is... I joined my second block class with another teacher. It is so weird to have 2 teachers in the room but it will be nice for my sub and great for the students. I have already noticed a difference in mine! (And it has only been 2 days!)

3. The truth is... Jack Jack had a blast last night trick-or-treating with his cousins. He was so tired when he got home that his passed out. It was awesome! (Pictures and story to come, hopefully.)

4. The truth is... The IT department at Josh's work won the costume contest yesterday. They got a box of Boo Berry cereal. Cheap, I know. I'm just proud that they won! They had the theme of Toy Story.

5. The truth is... I am so totally excited because my doctor told me today that I will get to see my sweet Victoria one more time in an ultrasound before she arrives. Yea! I've been dieing to see her since July when we found out that she was a Victoria and not a Matthew!
