Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Today is Josh's birthday. He hates his birthday. I don't know why.

2. The truth is... I'm thinking about disabling the facebook account. Too much drama. I'm even going to block it with OpenDNS (a page bloacker we placed on our computer in March). I'll warn everyone on facebook first.

3. The truth is... Tori didn't take good naps yesterday because I was at my parent's house most of the day. She had a terrible night. She woke up 3 times. Ugh!

4. The truth is... Tori LOVES watching Baby Monet. She played on the ground this morning and watched the whole thing while I unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned up the breakfast mess. She laughed a lot.

5. The truth is... Because of the books that I'm reading, I'm starting to freak out about getting a year supply. Yep, I need to get my rear end in gear.

Toy Clearance

Every year at the end of July Target holds a massive toy clearance. My sister and I went yesterday. We were there shortly after 8 and spent 2 hours shopping. The main reason we were there 2 hours was because we were waiting for the employees to mark things down. We stocked them as they went. I got some good stuff that can be used later in Tori's life, or for birthday or Christmas presents for others. I would have originally spent about $247.37 but actually spent $80.20. I'm so proud of myself!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... I know its gross, but I haven't showered since Friday night. I haven't had time. I've been busy cleaning and taking care of Tori.

2. The truth is... Tori exploded out of her diaper yesterday. I'm just hope that she is no longer constipated. The pears and pear juice really helped.

3. The truth is... Josh, Tori, Jack Jack and I walked to Dairy Queen last night for family night. Josh stayed outside while Tori and I ordered the ice cream. They even had a little treat for Jack Jack. They were so nice!

4. The truth is... Josh will most likely be getting a raise at work. YEA!

5. The truth is... I can't wait for the Target toy clearance on Thursday!

Prescott Trip

At the end of June, Josh and I took Tori on her first road trip. We went to Prescott. The cooler weather was so nice and we were able spend time with my Grandma Pratt as well as Josh's dad. Tori and I were actually able to go up Thursday morning with my grandma. A little extra time in the cooler weather was so nice. Tori did AMAZING on the drive. On the way up she slept for about half of it. By the time we were getting close to the end she started crying but other than that I was pleasantly surprised on how well she did. It was a lot of fun getting to know my grandma a lot better and spending time with her. We did spend a TON of time outside since Tori loves it and there was even a swing for her. (Why my grandma saved it all those years I cannot figure out why, but it came in handy.) Josh ended up coming Friday night after work. We had a lot of fun spending time together and just relaxing. There isn't much to do up there (unless you go to town) but it was still fun. Tori didn't sleep well at night while we were there, and I felt bad fro my grandma because she heard Tori cry every time. Sunday was a little bit of a nightmare because Josh went to spend some extra time with his little brother while Tori and I stayed with my grandma. Well, Tori was really fussy and she hadn't pooped well all weekend. My grandma was amazing, she took me to Fry's to get a sapository to give to Tori. That worked wonders! Tori was so much better then. As much as I don't people to see me crack, my grandma did that weekend. I felt bad, but I knew that she knows how it feels, and that was a little comforting. I do wish we could have done more but it was insanely crowded since it was rodeo weekend. We are hoping to go back in September to do some exploring. Here is some pictures I took of the weekend!
Happy to be out of the car seat and on the ground playing!
The only way she would fall asleep, in the swing!

Love that blankie!
Playing with daddy. (I LOVE THIS PICTURE!)

Found a big purple ball at Target
First driving lesson!

Yep, we bought the ball.

Helping daddy work on the computer he brought up. She is going to be a computer geek, just like him!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... My mom and I did 12 scrapbook pages (altogether) last Wednesday for my Grandma Baker's 80th's birthday album. It was a lot of scrapbooking. I'm burned out, except we still have many more pages to go (and her party is on Saturday!).

2. The truth is... Josh pretty much took care of Tori all weekend. It was nice, but I felt bad at the same time.

3. The truth is... I have to talk in church on Sunday. I've known for about a week and a half now. I'm completely stuck on what to say. Ugh!

4. The truth is... Tori loves to splash. It's so cute to see her splashing in the pool and trying to do it in the bathtub as well.

5. The truth is... Josh is on week 5 of his bachelors degree classes. That's good. I'm ready for him to be done already. I hate it that he gets home so late 3 nights a week!

7 Months!

My little Victoria is growing up so fast. I love the playful stage that she is in but I also miss my little cuddly baby. Little Tori turned 7 months old yesterday. It's hard to believe that in just 5 months I'm going to have a 1 year old! AHHHH! Tori is doing so much better since she got her ear tubes about a month ago. I love having a happy baby. Guess what! We didn't even go to the doctor this month! I'm hoping that we won't have to return again until she is 9 months (fingers crossed). Anyway, she is sitting up a lot now, and I am able to leave her for little spurts and she won't fall over. She is eating 3 full meals a day which is pretty awesome! She's growing way too fast! She loves to be held up to standing position then bend her knees, stick her booty out and shake it. Josh and I are both worried about her dancing skills, she doesn't need to be dancing like that already (it is really cute though)! Here are some fun pictures that I took over the last month!

My sister made this dress for my niece to wear to mine and Josh's wedding. It is now Tori's turn (and doesn't she look cute?)

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Tori just went down for a nap (at 4:45) she's going to be up late tonight. Ugh! I like my free time at night. Oh well, maybe she will sleep in tomorrow.

2. The truth is... Josh wakes up with Tori on the weekends. I wake up with her on the weekdays.

3. The truth is... Tori wakes up at 5 on the weekdays and 6:30 on the weekends. It's just not fair sometimes.

4. The truth is... Josh made us a new "headboard". It looks so awesome! We still have to finish it, a picture will come when it is complete.

5. The truth is... Jack Jack is pretty awesome, there is no doubt about it!

Ear Tubes

If you read my blog at all, or ask, anyone will know that Tori has had many ear infections in her short life. It has been a nightmare! I feel so bad for the little girl. Here is a list of ear infections she has had.
1 month: double ear infection
2 months: left ear infection
3 months: right ear infections
4 months: none (thank heaven)
5 1/2 months: left ear infection
10 days later: left ear infection (we don't think it went away)
6 months: right ear infection
Yep, it has been that crazy for her. When I took Tori to see the doctor when the left one was still infected (or never went away) before she turned 6 months. I asked for an ENT referral. She was happy to give me one, especially since she had 6 ear infections before she was even 6 months old. She also mentioned that she wanted to see her in a couple weeks to check up on the one she had. We ended up coming in for our 6 month check-up and her right ear didn't look pretty. She was so excited to hear that I had an appointment with Dr. Mancuso (an ENT) for the next morning. I was too, because the ear problem was getting crazy. Dr. Mancuso was great! He said that we could do one of 2 things, give her more antibiotics or get ear tubes. I told him that I was looking forward to ear tubes and I was hoping that he would recommend them. I also mentioned that the sooner we get them the better because our insurance was going to change at the beginning of July. He was really proactive about it and went straight to the person who schedules the surgeries. She said she could get me in on Friday June 15th (it was Wednesday June 13th). It was a miracle! I said YES! (Why wouldn't I?) Then When I left the doctor with all the information I just wanted to cry because I knew I was going to get relief! Josh was a little skeptical about getting ear tubes, but I figure that it was worth a try. So, on Friday June 15th, Josh and I woke up at 5 in the morning to get ready to go to the surgery center. I'm glad Tori didn't wake up until we had to leave. We had to be there at 6 in the morning and the surgery would occur at 7. Since she was the youngest she was the first to go in. I was very impressed at how well Tori did before the surgery. She hadn't eaten anything since midnight and she was really good until 6:45ish. The nurse, anesthesiologist, and Dr. Mancuso came to talk to us around 7 and then 10 minutes later she left. That was the hardest thing to do, to see the nurse take my baby away from me (even though it would only be about 15 minutes). Around 7:30 the nurse brought a very screaming Tori in. She wouldn't eat and didn't want to do anything because of what she had just been through. I'll admit that is totally understandable. We still had to calm her down when we got home and then she had to decide between sleeping and eating. She at a little and went back to sleep.
Although it cost me and Josh around $2,000 to put the ear tubes in, it was definitely worth it. The same day the tubes were put in, Tori finally rolled over. A few days later she would actually sit up really well without toppling over and then about 5 days later she started eating solid foods. A week later she started sleeping through the night (again). Although Josh was really skeptical about the whole thing, he has seen the same improvement that I have and he is glad that we had the ear tubes put in. Here are a few pictures of our adventure!
Ready and excited to go get some ear tubes put in!
Playing with daddy as we wait for the surgery!
Me and Tori with Dr. Mancuso. I should have gotten the picture BEFORE the tubes were put in but I forgot. Hence Tori's face, she's crying... a lot! (I think Dr. Mancuso thought I was weird for asking for a picture.)

Scrapbook Olympics Week 4 and 5

I know, I slacked off a little last week. I didn't post my page. I did it, I just didn't have a computer, scanner, or the internet so I was at a loss. I have it for your viewing today.
Last week you were supposed to use any new item or tool (that you have never used). My new item? It was the words at the top of the page that says graduation day. They are so cute and I have had them for about 2 years now but I haven't  used them. Therefore, it was my new item. It was so difficult to put on an center. Will I use the item again? Probably, but only because I have more to use. Here is my double page for last week!

This week (in celebration of our nation's birthday, or a holiday) we were supposed to create a holiday page. That would be any holiday. I'll admit that I don't have any picture of an Independence Day celebration so I went with Easter. Along with the holiday theme you were supposed to use a ribbon. Do you see mine? It is the white Ric-rac behind the flowers. I actually really love this page (despite the fact that my face  is covered with zits in the pictures).

Murder Mystery Dinner

I have always wanted to do a murder mystery dinner I was just always really afraid to do one. My friend Alyssa and I got together and planned one. We did it on June 9th. Yes, I am that far behind. We each invited our own couple and we had a blast. Alyssa's husband kept bringing in random pieces of our real-life lives into the scrip. He did so that made it even more enjoyable. I think we probably spent more time laughing than anything. The whole night was a TON of fun. Our little Tori even agreed because she didn't want to go to bed. She wanted to stay up and play with everyone. I think that I will definitely have to do another murder mystery dinner again. Here are pictures of the couples!
Cameron Kordier and Juanita Greencarde (Ricky and Sorena)
Chantella Solle and Spence DeMonet (Kim and Jeff)
Bernadette Down and Duncan Flushwater (Me and Josh)

Tanya Bunsoff and Fletcher Bysepps (Alyssa and Danny and Radley)

*I just thought that I would note that it is awesome that a post isn't about Tori. Hopefully I will be able to do more posts like this more often!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... I had family night with 2 of my sisters and my parents last night. No kids, no spouses. It was amazing, and a lot of fun.

2. The truth is... Josh and I took Tori up to Prescott this weekend to visit my Grandma Pratt. Tori loved it because she got to swing outside a lot. I loved it because I got to learn a lot about my grandma.

3. The truth is... the bills for Tori's ear tubes were not as bad as I thought they were. However, it still sucks to have to pay, but since she's doing better, it was worth it.

4. The truth is... I did do my page for the scrapbook Olympics last week, I just did it while I was in Prescott. I will post it, hopefully soon.

5. The truth is... It was a beautiful morning this morning for a walk. I always go on them, it was just extra nice this morning. I can't wait until tomorrow, it will be even nicer outside!
