Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... sleep training starts today. I know Tori is a little young, but her nap times really stink. So, we are going to sleep train. Let's hope she gets trained fast. Having to listen to the crying sucks!

2. The truth is... I have finally made a decision. Over the last few months I have been in debate whether or not I am going to try and breastfeed our other kids. I know breastfeeding is better but I emotionally cannot handle breastfeeding. So, I am going to bottle feed.

3. The truth is... Jack Jack gets overly excited to go on walks in the morning. Its so funny watching him get excited but it also makes it harder to put a leash on him.

4. The truth is... I'm going to miss going to my sister Wendi's house today. One of her kids is sick and I really don't want to chance it with Tori. I LOVE going over there on Tuesday. It gives me a break from being home.

5. The truth is... Josh finally got his graduation date. He graduates on June 18th. I'm so excited! Tori is excited to see him walk as well. (I didn't think that he would walk.)

Sleeping tales

I have two stories of sleep to tell today. They are both so awesome!

The first one is about Jack Jack. Last night Josh and I were sitting on the couch talking. Jack Jack was in the middle of the family room floor sleeping on his back. He started twitching. Josh asked Jack Jack if he wanted to go on a walk. He started twitching even more. He then asked him if he wanted to go outside and he stopped twitching. (He now hates it outside since it is getting hotter.) He then said "Daddy's home" and Jack Jack started twitching a little. After that he said "let's go on a walk." and his legs went crazy. It was so awesome because he was getting  excited about walks but not excited to go outside. My Jack Jack is so silly!

The next story is my favorite... even though it is really short. Tori slept through the night for the first time last night. I just hopes she does it again. It was nice to wake up for the first time at 5:45 AM to feed her. Now we just have to get the naps down.

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Josh made a new bed frame for us. That way we no longer have to use the metal one. We also took the foot-board off our bed. Now our bed looks really weird.

2. The truth is... Jack Jack's knee has been going out of place every once in awhile (3 times in the last 3 months). He fixes it, but it is a scary process for us both.

3. The truth is... I cannot wait to take Tori swimming for the first time. I have to find a time Josh can come too so he can be there for her first swimming experience.

4. The truth is... I had a dream Sunday night that we adopted a stray puppy. He was about as big as Jack Jack and I named him Bob. I'm not sure why I named him Bob.

5. The truth is... I'm glad I ended up going to the scrapbook convention this year. I wasn't going to go (even though I took the day off for it) but I did and I got a lot of great stuff!

One year ago today,,,

One year ago today, I found out I was pregnant. Don't ask me how I remember that April 16th was the day I found out, but I do. I blame it on the fact that it was around my dad's birthday. Here's a quick story. If you don't want to read it that is okay, I'm going to write anyway.
On April 15th, Josh and I went out to my parents house so Josh could help my dad get tables out for the young women's garage sale they were having the next day. They already had some out, they just had to be moved. Josh and I had been trying to get pregnant for 8 months and it was about time for my next period. I didn't know when it was supposed to come, but for some reason I knew that it was soon. However, I couldn't shake the feeling I had telling me I was pregnant. So while we were out at my parent's house, I was looking through all of the kids clothes that was being sold at the yard sale. Since I couldn't shake the feeling, I found a TON that I really liked and pulled them aside. (I should note that I found a good amount of both boys and girls clothes and most of them still had a tag on it, you can't pass those up.) Anyway, I put them aside and told my mom to get a number on all the clothes so I could pay the young women. (I should also note here, this is where I found Tori's Christmas dress, with a tag still on it.) It turns out that everything my parents found (including all the clothes) we were able to keep as a gift for letting them use their house. Sweet, free clothes! We ended up enjoying the night with my parents and we even had Panda Express for dinner, which is weird because my mom hates that kind of food. It was my dad's birthday so she was s good sport.
The next day I still couldn't shake the pregnant feeling. Josh was gone that morning (I believe to school) so I decided to take a pregnancy test after my piano lessons. I went to the dollar store, yes they sell them there and they work, bought a couple of pregnancy tests and then came home. After a few minutes the feelings I had were confirmed. I was pregnant. I could not believe it! After 8 months, we were finally going to be a family of 3! I will admit that I started freaking out a little bit. It's something you talk about but it's hard to imagine happen. (Well, I think it was.) That night when Josh got home from school I had a present for him. They were 2 children's books wrapped up titled "Just Like Daddy" and "I Love You, Mommy". He opened them and wasn't quite sure why I gave it to him. I said "think about the titles". He still didn't get it so I told him that I was pregnant and he was totally excited. The worst part is that we were going over to my parent's house that night to have a part for my dad and I couldn't tell anyone.
The next week was Easter and we both debated about telling everyone then but we didn't. We ended up waiting until after my first appointment on May 18th (yes, I remember that date as well). I wanted to make sure that everything was okay because I was having a lot of stress at work and I didn't feel that sick (so I was a little worried).
One year later my little girl is 4 months old. I love her to death and I don't think Josh and I would change anything. It has been a HUGE challenge but I think that Heavenly Father knew when to send our sweet Tori. Although I was getting frustrated waiting, I know that I wouldn't have been able to deal with her any sooner than she was sent. I love my family! Here are some cute pictures (my favorites) of my little girl.

4 Months

The last couple of days have been a little crazy. Yes,  it is all thanks to my sweet little 4 month old baby. I will admit that she isn't sweet all the time, she has her moments, especially over the last 2 days. Here is a quick overview of what it has been like and then some cute 4 month pictures!
I actually should back up a few weeks. As noted in my Tuesday Truths a couple weeks ago, Tori has been constipated. I think that her body needed to get used to the switch, because it is a HUGE change. Anyway, about every other day I was giving her an ounce of prune juice with an ounce  of water. It really helped. All of a sudden (on Tuesday) she started pooping like crazy! She pooped 3 times that day without prune juice. I will admit, I was totally excited! (I know, I'm weird.) He appetite also went down. She WAS eating 5 ounces ever 3-4 hours but all the sudden would eat 2 ounces ever 2-3hours. It was like she was a newborn again. UGH! I should note that she was still only waking up at once, but having to feed every 2-3 can get old. (I'm just glad I'm not breastfeeding.)
Wednesday rolls along and before Josh leaves for work Tori starts crying uncontrollably. We couldn't do anything to help her. She was also pulling at one of her ears. She also had a little poop with every diaper. So, my thoughts were "crap, another ear infection." We gave her tyelenol and finally got her to take a nap. I called my sister Wendi and she said that I should take her to the doctor even though I had a wellness check-up the next day. If she was sick then we needed to start medication. So, I made an appointment and GUESS WHAT!!! SHE WASN'T SICK! She had no ear infection, which was awesome because that means she has gone one whole month without one (YEA!).  However, we are teething. Therefore we found out why she isn't eating as good, why she is pooping out of control, and why she is in so much pain. The doctor said that it was on the cusp of coming through the gums. May I just say this, but teething is not fun (for me and Tori).
Come to today, we went back to the doctor for her wellness check up (which included 5 vaccinations, 4 of which were shots). Doctor Valenzuela said she was looking perfect (I didn't see her Wednesday because she was out of the office). So, now I am not only dealing with a teething baby but a cranky one because of the 4 shots. I'll be honest, I can tell she doesn't feel well because she slept most of the afternoon, which is not normal for her. I just thought I would add that she has had 4 outfit changes today due to explosions. I think I may have to do some laundry for her before Monday rolls around. Here are some pictures along with 4 month information.
Weight: 13 pounds 15 ounces
Height: 25.3 inches tall
(yep, she is tall and skinny)
Head Circumference: 16.75 inches
Eating: normally 5 ounces every 3-4 hours
Sleeping: Wakes up once in the nights. Takes 2-4 45 minute naps a day (she hates naps).
Loves to play on the ground and LOVES to laugh. She hates her car seat.
Used a new car seat today for the first time (one that sits her up more).

I consider this skirt her dancing skirt. She got it from one of my piano students.
One of her favorite things to do is eat her hands (even though I tell her not to because she has to play the piano when she gets older).
Can't pass up this cute face!
Tori with her new bunny named Sherbert. She LOVES it! (I bought it after Easter for 50% off.)
So serious!

One of Jack Jack... for good measure.
